The Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America (YMMC) and the Yamaha Motor Corp., USA (YMUS) are proudly celebrating their 30th anniversary of operation at the facility in Newnan, Georgia. With over 1500 current employees and a facility measuring a whopping 1,355,000 square feet, YMMC has been a motorsports leader in the US since the company was founded in 1986.
Since the foundation of Yamaha Motor in 1955 (in Japan), the company name has become well known across all types of motorsport industries, and the American division of the company is no exception. With 30 years of manufacturing under its belt, the Newnan facility alone has produced upwards of 3.5 million vehicles, ranging from golf carts to ATVs, watercraft to SxS vehicles.
The “Assembed in USA” brand has become synonymous with quality and reliability, and the company has continued to push innovation and development in nearly ever sector of the powersports industry. 30 years of manufacturing is a major achievement!
The current facility, located just south of Atlanta, has been transformed over the past 15 years into a state-of-the-art, multifaceted production powerhouse. The $354 million investment ensures safety for employees, environmental responsibility, and of course, the top quality products that Yamaha fans have come to know and love. The factory boasts ISO9001 Quality Management System and ISO14001 Environmental Management System certifications as well!
