Two recent announcements in the Supercross racing world will result in changes for the 2019 season. After a 23-year partnership, a mutual decision was made between Parts Unlimited and Feld Entertainment‘s Monster Energy AMA Supercross to end the sponsorship relationship at the conclusion of the 2018 season.
On the heels of this news, it was also announced that Western Power Sports would be taking over as the official and exclusive Powersports Parts and Accessories distributor at the beginning of the 2019 season. Additionally, the FLY Racing brand will become the official and exclusive gear sponsor – including gloves, helmet, pants, boots, and jerseys.
The amicable split between Parts Unlimited and Monster Energy AMA Supercross will allow the massive distributor to pursue new initiatives while staying involved with the Supercross through their team and rider sponsorships. They will certainly be present throughout the season, just not in the same official capacity.
Incoming sponsors, Western Power Sports, are committed to a long-term partnership with AMA Supercross, providing marketing activations and immersive experiences for fans at each weekly Pit Party, as well as engaging their dealer network for the overall benefit of the sport.
Despite the changing sponsor, everyone involved believes it’s the best situation for the sport and the industry, and that the new partnership will foster growth and the long-term health of both organizations. It’s a win/win/win for everyone involved!
